Planteome recognized as a Global Biodata Core Resource
The Planteome Project is pleased to announce that we were designated a Global Core Biodata Resource (GCBR) in 2023 by the Global Biodata Coalition. The GCBR selection process was open to biodata resources globally that were able to meet several stringent eligibility criteria. The Planteome was selected along with 14 other resources from more than 90 who submitted expressions of interest across two rounds of selection. The assessment process for GCBRs was undertaken by a panel of more than 50 independent expert reviewers against a series of criteria that included scientific focus, the size and reach of the user communities, quality of service, governance, and impact on global research.
GCBRs provide free and open access to data, are used extensively, are mature and comprehensive, are considered authoritative in their field, are of high scientific quality, and provide a professional standard of service delivery.
